BOULO creates jewellery that flows over and out of the mainstream.
"Make it the best and sell it to the world". These words, articulated by my grandfather and carried over three generations, gave me the courage to follow my dream to create something unequivocally unique and elegantly exclusive for those who want a special alternative to the generic choices.
The meticulously designed and crafted pieces reflect the desire for flawless design, colours, and local character that have found their soul in BOULO.
İzmir is my hometown along the Aegean coast where the mesmerising waves under the blazing sun gave the vibrant blue tone turquoise its name and inspired BOULO’s design; it is the site of Ephesus and the birth place of Ionia, the city-state where Diogenes lived in a barrel out on the street and shrugged of Alexander the Great for blocking the sun. İzmir is where the sun always shines, its streets speak a thousand languages narrating countless stories and out of this endless stream of cultural history an inspiration emerged and gave me the courage necessary to follow a dream which I had as long as I can remember myself: to create.
I lived in İstanbul for 6 years and it is impossible not to be fascinated by the city. İstanbul has been named the envy of the world not only because of its unmatched beauty but also because of its legendary reputation as the ancient producer of the finest crafts with family-heritage traditions and techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. Empires, civilizations, peoples, traders, craftsman, travellers, artists, roamed its Grand Bazaar for thousands of years. There was only one route for me to choose when I decided to make the best: Grand Bazaar, the fantastically dizzying historical market where all BOULO pieces are handcrafted.
London is the city I currently live in and where I found the means and professional passion to finally create BOULO in 2020. The characteristically cosmopolitan setting of London brought everything together for me to design and create only those pieces that would truly give joy to its bearer.

BOULO always prioritises quality: our jewellery is handcrafted in our İstanbul atelier by only the finest craftsmen, all pieces are 925 sterling silver and 18k gold plated with micron plating method. The velvet pouches provided inside the jewellery package are hand-sewn in İzmir by a local seamstress. We are proud to bring together skilful craftsmen, small suppliers and local businesses in support of local communities.
